Greetings ILDFA members,

Fall is officially here, and I hope things have went well for everyone and their farms this past summer. Our association annual membership meeting and fundraiser auction has just wrapped up on September 15th and I am pleased to tell everyone we had a successful event. We started the day with our annual business meeting which included discussions on current political events in our state as we try to move completely under the direction of the Dept. of Agriculture. The membership was also brought up to speed on our current financials and new lobbyist contract fees that were re-negotiated from last year. Board member and officer positions were elected again this year and I would like to welcome Grant Carrolan as a new board member and Lisa Shepard as our new Secretary along with Chet Hostetler elected as treasurer. After our meeting Dr. Cliff Shipley had a very informative presentation with Q&A on all the do’s and don’ts of remote delivery - darting cervids. The fundraiser auction had a nice variety of items and participation from the members that were present was outstanding and I am pleased to say that we raised a significant more amount  of money than last year which will really go a long way in making budget FY 2018. We will be looking at different ways to raise funds to finish out our year going into next August-September. I would like to thank the board members for their help in making our meeting a success and also the bidders of all the auction items along with the people who donated all the items we sold. These donations are so vital to our success and we cannot thank you enough! It was really a fun day and good to visit with everyone that was there from newer members to some that were founders of the association. The ILDFA looks forward to the coming year and seeing you all again at our next event.

Respectfully your President,
Greg Mills
